Fibrecraft Studio

The Fibrecraft Studio is a calm, welcoming space dedicated to supporting adults with learning disabilities to design and produce beautiful, high-quality, handmade items for sale. Here, creativity, collaboration and sustainability come together through a range of fibre-based crafts, helping participants build confidence, independence and valuable life skills.

We work primarily with natural and recycled materials, transforming them into unique products using traditional techniques and imaginative design. Felting is a central part of our practice, combining creativity with therapeutic, sensory processes that make the experience both meaningful and rewarding.

The studio works collaboratively – each person is valued for the unique skills they bring at different stages of the process. From early design ideas and preparing materials to making, finishing, labelling and displaying the final pieces at the point of sale, everyone plays an important part in the shared journey from raw material to finished product.

Alongside felting, we explore a range of crafts including:

  • Recycling materials in papermaking
  • Sewing and spinning
  • Willow work
  • Natural dyeing

‘I feel success’

{

In order to make new products I come up with blue prints first before I start anything I come up with the ideas. I feel success and complete. I enjoy making products one project at the time.
